Arsenal will be looking to reach the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday evening when the Gunners make the short trip to West Ham United.

Arsenal enter the clash on the back of a terrific result, with Eddie Nketiah grabbing a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Sheffield United. The victory left Arsenal second in the Premier League, just two points behind Spurs in first.

Attention now turns to the Carabao Cup, where the Gunners face London rivals West Ham in the Round of 16 after beating Brentford 1-0 in the previous round. This will be Declan Rice's first visit to his old club since departing the Hammers in the summer transfer window.

So, can Arsenal book their spot in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday? Let's take a look.

We predict that the Gunners could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ramsdale; White, Gabriel, Kiwior, Tomiyasu; Jorginho, Vieira, Smith Rowe; Nelson, Nketiah, Trossard.

West Ham looked the most dangerous in the opening stages, with the Gunners losing the midfield battle and allowing the hosts to test Aaron Ramsdale multiple times in the first half. The Gunners' performance didn't improve in the second half, and West Ham took a deserved lead not long after the restart.

Emerson picked up the ball deep in his own half, and the defender attempted an ambitious long ball forward after spotting the run of Danny Ings. The ball sailed over the head of Gabriel and into the path of the striker, and one-on-one, the Englishman fired home to make it 1-0.

Mikel Arteta introduced Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli for the final 20 minutes in an attempt to salvage a goal, but West Ham defended well and held onto the lead to pick up a shock victory.
