West Ham United are just months away from the end of the 2022/23 season, which will mark the start of the summer transfer window.

The Hammers spent around £160million on eight new signings at the start of the season as they looked to build on top seven finishes and a place in the semi-finals of the Europa League in the last two seasons.

However, with West Ham finding themselves in a relegation battle, the Hammers forked out a further £12million on striker Danny Ings in January in the hopes that experience would steer the ship towards a strong end to the season.

Aside from Ings, there were three other players that West Ham held an interest in during the winter window, but moves did not come to fruition.

Here is a look at each of the trio and how their careers have fared since.

Youssef En-Nesyri

Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri has been of long standing interest to Moyes, with West Ham expressing interest in En-Nesyri at the beginning of the window, initially on loan.

However, with Sevilla struggling in La Liga, similarly to West Ham in the Premier League, En-Nesyri decided against a move, having been also linked elsewhere and decided to stay put.

A Moroccan national team colleague of West Ham centre-back Nayef Aguerd, En-Nesyri did not score in his first 14 league appearances of the season, but has scored five goals in his last eight league matches, including two at home to bottom of the table Elche.

Sevilla have climbed up to 14th in La Liga, but sitting just two points clear of the relegation zone with only 12 league matches remaining, sacked manager Jorge Sampaoli on Tuesday.

Terem Moffi

Prior to signing Ings, West Ham had submitted a bid to sign Nigerian international striker Terem Moffi from Lorient.

Moffi had a brilliant first half of the season in France with Lorient, scoring 12 goals in 18 Ligue 1 matches prior to West Ham’s interest.

Despite making a bid to sign him, West Ham quickly turned their attention to a cheaper and more proven alternative in Ings, ending interest in Moffi.

Following West Ham’s interest, Moffi joined Nice, and since the move, the striker has played eight matches in Ligue 1 and the Europa Conference League, scoring four times and adding two assists.

Moffi and Nice could line-up against each other in the Europa Conference League this season, should both teams get to June’s final, taking place in Prague, Czech Republic.

Sean Moore

Interest also emerged from West Ham in young Irish prospect Sean Moore at Northern Irish side Cliftonville for the club’s academy, although football.london understands that interest in the teenager was always set to be with a view of a summer transfer.

The 17-year-old winger, who represented Northern Ireland’s under-18s in November, is due to make his debut for the Republic of Ireland’s under-19s in the coming days, having made their squad to face Slovakia, Estonia and Greece.

Moore has played 33 times for Cliftonville’s first team in all competitions this season and since the window has shut, Moore has played eight times for his club, starting nine of them and scoring twice during a 2-1 win over Glentoran.

Should a move come to fruition, he would join a list of Northern Irish based players to join the Hammers’ academy in recent years, including Callum Marshall, Michael Forbes, Patrick Kelly and Josh Briggs.
