Daniel Levy and Tottenham have plenty left to do in the transfer market before the summer window draws to a close on Friday, September 1. Adding to their squad so far with the additions of Guglielmo Vicario, Ashley Phillips, Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Manor Solomon and Alejo Veliz, Spurs also confirmed permanent transfers for Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevski after initially joining the club on loan.
Things have been very quiet in terms of transfer exits from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since the window opened for business, however. Harry Kane's big-money move to Bayern Munich is undoubtedly the major Tottenham talking point of the summer, with Harry Winks and Joe Rodon the other two players to depart after joining Leicester City permanently and Leeds United on loan respectively.
So what exactly do Tottenham still have to do on the transfer front before 11pm on September 1? football.london takes a look at the incomings and outgoings that must take place.
Incomings
New centre-back
Very much the priority for Tottenham in the transfer window, all connected with the club probably would have wanted new centre-backs in through the door the first week of pre-season rather than the week leading up to the Brentford game. Managing to bolster their defensive options with the signings of Phillips and Van de Ven, Tottenham still need to bring in another option before deadline day.
Spurs have interest in Torino's Perr Schuurs, with Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo, who has been tipped to sign for Monaco, another player they like. Clement Lenglet could be an option again providing of course that he doesn't depart Barcelona and move to Saudi Arabia.
New midfield option
Tottenham have some very good options in midfield going into the new season but there is a possibility that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could depart for Atletico Madrid. If that is indeed the case, Postecoglou and Spurs will need to look at another midfield option to ensure that the team have plenty of cover in the middle of the park.

New attacking option
Kane's big-money departure to Bayern Munich means that Tottenham now need to bring in another attacker before the transfer window closes for business. Going to be extremely hard to sign someone who can replicate what the club's all-time top goalscorer did in the final third, Postecoglou admitted last week that they wouldn't be "out there tomorrow looking for a number nine to replace Harry Kane".
Gift Orban would be a very good addition and perfect for Postecoglou's system after his goalscoring heroics for Gent, while Brennan Johnson and Eberechi Eze would also be impressive signings if Spurs can strike deals with either Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace. All eyes are going to be on how exactly Tottenham and Postecoglou look to replace Kane over the 15 days.
Outgoings
Hugo Lloris
Making it clear in the summer that he wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur for a new challenge elsewhere, Lloris still remains in north London ahead of the transfer deadline. Spurs are in talks with Lazio over a deal for the Frenchman and they are keen to receive a fee for the 36-year-old.
This appears to be one deal that should be fairly straightforward for Tottenham compared to others as Lloris bids farewell after 11 years in the capital.
Sergio Reguilon
Returning to the club in pre-season following an injury-hit loan spell with Atletico Madrid, Reguilon looks likely to be on the move again, with a potential deal with Real Sociedad reportedly in the offing. Not named on the bench at Brentford last Sunday, Ben Davies appears to be fighting it out with Destiny Udogie for the left-back starting berth.
A permanent move would suit both parties so that Reguilon can get his career back on track and Spurs bring in a fee for the Spaniard.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
Starting virtually every game following his move from Southampton in August 2020, Hojbjerg's time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could possibly come to an end this summer. Atletico Madrid are very keen on luring him to the Spanish capital and a transfer may well come to fruition.
Davinson Sanchez or Eric Dier
Looking to add a further option to their centre-back choices following the arrival of Van de Ven, there needs to be some movement in terms of defensive outgoings from Tottenham. With Japhet Tanganga down the pecking order and in desperate need of a move so he can play regularly, the former England under-21 star could be joined out of the door by one of Dier or Sanchez.
The pair are both out of contract next summer and Tottenham cannot afford to see both depart for absolutely nothing come the end of the season. As Sanchez has performed well in the past two games and is the player better suited to Postecoglou's system, Dier may be the one to part with before the month is out.
However, that is going to be down to the head coach as he looks to form his perfect Tottenham squad.
Djed Spence
Spence's move to Tottenham from Middlesbrough last summer has just not worked out at all for the player. Only making six appearances for the Lilywhites so far, the 23-year-old needs to move on as opportunities at Spurs are just not gong to be there for him with Emerson Royal and Porro ahead of him in the pecking order.
Japhet Tanganga
Hampered by injury ever since breaking into the Tottenham team, Tanganga is now at the age where he needs to depart so that he can play week in, week out. Seeing a move to Italy fall through 12 months ago, the 24-year-old desperately needs one to be materialise this time around.
Tanguy Ndombele
Tottenham need to find a way of moving Ndombele on permanently this summer as he is quite clearly not in Postecoglou's thinking. football.london reported on Monday that despite a bright start the head coach grew unimpressed with the Frenchman's attitude and application as pre-season wore on, including his time-keeping.
Having all the talent in the world but not having clubs queuing up for his services after just not doing enough on the pitch in recent seasons, Tottenham have quite the predicament on their hands when it comes to Ndombele as they are just not going to get the money they want for him. Unless they find a buyer before the transfer window slams shut, Spurs will find themselves in the exact same position in the upcoming transfer windows.
Harvey White
Finishing last season on loan in League One with Derby County, White needs to secure another move before the transfer deadline. Not given a squad number for the new season and behind a whole host of midfielders in Postecoglou's squad, a permanent exit looks to be the best option for both player and club as he is out of contract in 2024.
Troy Parrott
Parrott was another not to be handed a squad number for the 2023/24 season by Postecoglou. The Republic of Ireland international looks set to depart on loan again but this could potentially be his last loan move as his Spurs contract runs out in 2025.
If he is to head elsewhere on a temporary deal, the striker really needs to hit the ground running and find the net on a regular basis if he is to have a Tottenham future.
Alfie Devine
Wowing for Tottenham in their pre-season friendly against West Ham, Tottenham quite clearly have a star on their hands in Devine. Now needing to get regular first-team minutes in senior football under his belt to help aid his development, Spurs shouldn't be short of options for prospective loan clubs for the ex-Wigan Athletic youngster.
Dane Scarlett
Although Spurs are rather light at present through the middle following Kane's exit to Bayern Munich, a loan move for Scarlett is still the best option this season in terms of his development. Starting well at Portsmouth before his pitch time started to dry up due to a change of management, the frontman ideally needs a full season as a regular starter to enhance his game to a greater level.
