Tottenham Hotspur are very much going to be in the headlines over the course of transfer deadline day. Now approaching the final few hours of the summer market, Daniel Levy and Co have until 11pm to sign off any remaining transfer business.

The Lilywhites still have plenty to do before the day is out, including bringing in a new attacker, potentially strengthening in defence and midfield and also moving on a number of unwanted players. So what exactly will happen before the day comes to a close? Our football.london Tottenham reporters have made their predictions below.

Rob Guest - Tottenham Hotspur reporter

Tottenham may have left things too late in order to complete every single bit of business they need to finalise prior to this evening's transfer deadline. It would be a miracle if they can sign three new players and then move on around eight or nine before the clock strikes 11pm.

One deal I do think will be completed is the signing of Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest. However, this could be one in true Tottenham style that drags on until the end of the window.

As much as Spurs need a new centre-back in through the door at present, it will all depend on outgoings in that area of the pitch. Japhet Tanganga is heading to Augsburg on a season-long loan deal but it remains to be seen what will happen with both Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez.

I think the latter will stay at the club and the former may also do the same unless a permanent offer comes in for him over the coming hours, thus meaning Spurs go without a new centre-back. As Dier is in the last year of his contract, a loan move just does not make success and it ideally needs to be a permanent one from a Spurs perspective.

I will go for Tottenham to pull a rabbit out of the hat in the final few hours and agree on a deal with Chelsea for Conor Gallagher. The deal will come to fruition with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg bidding farewell to Tottenham after three years.

One Spurs player who gets a loan move will be Tanguy Ndombele, who heads back to Italy following his year with Napoli last campaign. There will be no move for Hugo Lloris so late in the transfer window and that will leave Tottenham with a decision to make over him.

Lee Wilmot - Head of Football

It's deadline day and Spurs fans will be very apprehensive. Things went well for new head coach Ange Postecoglou at the start of the summer transfer window, but deals started to peter out as the summer wore on, so much so, that there is plenty of work to be done on the Australian's squad on the final day of the transfer window.

Will it all be completed? It seems unlikely. Daniel Levy is used to busy deadline days and this one will be no different. However, if we're predicting what will actually happen, I'm inclined to say not much, unfortunately.

I do think a deal for a new forward will be done, and I do think that new forward will be Brennan Johnson. It seems like everything was in place for that transfer to get over the line, and you get the feeling Postecoglou might go nuclear if it doesn't get done.

Sergio Reguilon will complete a loan move to Manchester United and Japhet Tanganga and Tanguy Ndombele will also depart on loan. There will be a late bid for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, which Postecoglou will be reluctant to do at such a late stage, with no one to come in, but Levy will sanction it late in the day and that will be that.

No defender will sign, meaning Davinson Sanchez remains the back-up choice to Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, and Eric Dier will be stuck as the outcast at the club, running down his current deal.
