After dropping points on Boxing Day, Tottenham will be looking to get back to winning ways when they face Aston Villa on New Year's Day.
Spurs found themselves in trouble once again when they went two goals down against Brentford in their last outing, but goals from Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg saw Antonio Conte's side claim a point and remain in the Premier League top four. But, Manchester United sit just one point behind Spurs with a game in hand, putting pressure on Conte's side.
Spurs will welcome Aston Villa in the first Premier League game of 2023, and the Lilywhites are set to have Hugo Lloris and Cristian Romero both return to the starting XI. Rodrigo Bentancur will not be available though, with Conte confirming he is injured for the clash with Villa.

So, could Spurs pick up three points against Aston Villa on New Year's Day? We simulated the game to find out.
We simulated Spurs vs Aston Villa to get a score prediction
To complete this simulation, we used FIFA 23 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.
We predict that Spurs could line up in a 3-4-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Lenglet; Doherty, Hojbjerg, Bissouma, Perisic; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.
We predict that the visitors could set up in a 4-2-2-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Mings, Digne; Luiz, Kamara; McGinn, Buendia; Watkins, Ings.
Unlike some of their recent games, Spurs started the strongest of the two teams, with Conte's side creating some good chances in the opening stages. Heung-Min Son looked sharp as he stung the gloves of Emiliano Martinez with a long-range effort early on, and he managed to get on the scoresheet after nine minutes to make it 1-0.
An overlapping run down the left saw Hojbjerg find Ivan Perisic in space, with the Croatian carrying the ball to the byline. As the wingback looked up he spotted Son unmarked at the front post, and as the ball reached the forward, he placed his effort into the far corner of the net to send his side ahead.
But, three minutes later the score was levelled, with Douglas Luiz making it 1-1 when his long-range effort looped over Lloris and crept in underneath the bar. Conte's side continued to pile on the pressure after being pegged back, and a fantastic team move was finished off by Kane to send Spurs ahead after 34 minutes.
Some tiki-taka football in and around the Villa box saw Spurs drag defenders in and create space on either wing, and once again, Perisic was found in acres of space out on the left. Kane burst into the box to make himself available for the cross, and the Spurs captain was able to tap past the keeper with ease to make it 2-1.
Spurs took the lead into the break, but against the run of play, Villa found themselves level again, this time Danny Ings the scorer as he rounded Lloris and passed the ball into the net. It was frustrating for Spurs as the visitors scored twice in five shots, but a stroke of luck saw Spurs regain the lead with 15 minutes remaining.
Kane dropped outside of the box to pick up possession as Spurs struggled to break through the Villa backline, and as no defender followed the striker out of the box, he was unmarked in a promising shooting position. Dejan Kulusevski squared the ball to Kane, and his shot on goal took a wicked deflection off the heel of Boubacar Kamara to fizz past the 'keeper and into the bottom corner.
This time, Spurs held on to their lead to claim an important victory.
