Manchester United legend Roy Keane has argued that his old side, as well as Arsenal, need to worry more about the likes of Newcastle United and Aston Villa catching them rather than being able to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title. The Gunners currently sit just one point behind league-leaders City and level on points with Liverpool, who boast a better goal difference, in second.
But Keane isn't convinced by their title aspirations, putting them in the same bracket as United, who are six points behind the north Londoners down in sixth. The former Republic of Ireland international told the Stick to Football podcast: "We always talk about trying to close the gap to Man City, but I think the challenge for some of these teams including United is what's going on around them.
"Liverpool are improving, Newcastle, Villa...that's the challenge I think Arsenal and United have to worry about."
Meanwhile, Gary Neville disagreed with his old teammate. Regarding the title debate, Neville added: "I think Arsenal could win the league.
"Starting like this, I think the football we saw last season will come, and the fact they've started a little bit slower I never think is a bad thing. Just sat there in the pack behind."
