Toney verdict

Jamie Carragher and has named which club Ivan Toney should join in the January transfer window. Speaking on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football show, the former Liverpool defender explained why Mikel Arteta must take a risk on Toney.

"Ivan Toney could elevate Arsenal," said Carragher. "He’s a different type of striker and I’m a huge fan of his. In terms of quality, there’s no doubt it’s there. But to take Arsenal to the Premier League title?

Taylor returns

Anthony Taylor will make his return to the Premier League this weekend when Chelsea welcome Manchester City to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. The FIFA-listed referee was recently demoted to the Championship by the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) following his mistake during last month's 2-2 draw between Wolves and Newcastle.

Taylor was relegated to the second division after Premier League's Independent Key Match Incidents Panel deemed his decision to award the Magpies a penalty to be incorrect. He was put in charge of the game between Preston North End and Coventry City on Saturday afternoon as his punishment.

Unfortunately for Taylor, he hardly redeemed himself and gave a soft penalty to Preston, who went on to win 3-2. Over the weekend, Gary O'Neil joked about the referee's demotion to the Championship ahead of Wolves' meeting with Sheffield United.

Disasi breaks his silence

Axel Disasi expressed his joy at winning his first London derby in a 'strange' game with a 'crazy' atmosphere. The French defender said: "It was a crazy game tonight, in the first half, and we are happy to win this game because we need to get some points. We are happy.

"Like I said, the first half was a little bit strange and every time the VAR was there and, for me, it was my first London derby and the atmosphere was crazy. It was top.

“We know that we want to win and it was a good moment because we have not won so many games but they are happy, we are happy also and now we have to take a rest to prepare for the big game on Sunday."
