Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk has been urged to find the "right environment" following his early struggles at the club, which have been blamed on the setup currently in place. The Ukraine international has been with the Blues for nearly one-year now, following on from his dramatic transfer saga.
For months Mudryk had hinted at a switch to Arsenal, with bids being made by the north London outfit but ultimately turned down by Shakhtar Donetsk. That's when Chelsea swooped in, having tried their best to spend big but on some of the biggest future talents in world football.
Mudryk was paraded around Stamford Bridge to much fanfare, seen as a powerful move by the new ownership to beat their rivals to a top target. His start to life in London was promising with a short cameo against Liverpool, but he struggled to hit those heights for the rest of the campaign.
With a new manager in place over the summer, it took some time for Mudryk to break into the team under Mauricio Pochettino. Ben Chilwell was preferred on the left-wing to start with, but the youngster finally got his chance and has looked back to his dangerous best, even if not matched with end product all the time.
"After three months he is not a completely different player because we are not magic but he is a different person," the head coach said on his uptake in form. “We are starting to see how lovely this guy is. He is so sensitive and smart. He is so clever. And how important it is to give confidence in life and in life to trust. When people trust they can be open and start to express their talent in football.

"Micha is doing really well in his relationships with the team, the coaching staff, the medical staff, with the club. That is a massive improvement. It is not to give him some exercises or some advice about how to move between the lines or one very one. That is part of his talent but the most important is that he can feel confident and happy when you play football because you need to feel connected to the game."
Despite that, Shakhtar Donetsk fitness coach Carlo Nicolini has slammed the transfer strategy set in place by Todd Boehly, while hinting that a transfer may be best for Mudryk. He told PlayTV: "Mudryk needed to take one more step there, then the war happened. He went to Chelsea, which is not a team, individuals struggle [there].
"In the national team you can see the real Mudryk, he can do even more. He must find the right environment and a coach who gives him confidence. He has everything to rock, I hope he can show it because he is really strong."
It remains to be seen whether that is possible, especially considering the large transfer fee paid by Chelsea, but it's clear that things have been far from easy at the start.
