Mykhailo Mudryk has broken his silence following his return from injury. The 22-year-old winger tweaked his quadricep during the first-half of Chelsea's clash against Fulham last month, forcing Mauricio Pochettino to take him off at the break.

He was then reintegrated into the first-team the following weekend, enjoying a brief cameo off the bench against Burnley just before the October international break. Despite concerns over Mudryk's fitness, he was still called up to the Ukraine senior squad and proceeded to play all but two minutes of two crucial European Championship qualifiers.

His dominant displays against North Macedonia and Malta armed him with the confidence to almost lead Chelsea to victory against Arsenal just a few of days later. Mudryk put the Blues ahead at Stamford Bridge with an outrageous lobbed effort over David Raya, who was left flailing for the ball.

Then, ahead of the Brentford clash last weekend, the Ukrainian picked up a knock and was absent from the matchday squad. Mudryk then also missed the midweek meeting with Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup before eventually returning to first-team training.

He marked his return to the pitches at Cobham with a celebratory post to his Instagram story. In-front of a picture of himself in his Chelsea gear, Mudryk wrote: "Nice feeling back on the pitch [smiling emoji]."

It remains to be seen whether the youngster will be ready to start against Tottenham on Monday night, but his return comes as a huge boost for his side. While Mudryk is yet to entirely warrant his eye-watering price tag, he's shown great signs of improvement in recent weeks and Pochettino is delighted with his progress.

"After three months he is not a completely different player because we are not magic but he is a different person," said the Chelsea manager. "We are starting to see how lovely this guy is. He is so sensitive and smart.

"He is so clever. And how important it is to give confidence in life and in life to trust. When people trust they can be open and start to express their talent in football.

"Micha is doing really well in his relationships with the team, the coaching staff, the medical staff, with the club. That is a massive improvement. It is not to give him some exercises or some advice about how to move between the lines or one very one.

That is part of his talent but the most important is that he can feel confident and happy when you play football because you need to feel connected to the game."
