David Moyes has praised West Ham's owners for getting Jarrod Bowen tied down to a new seven-year contract at the club. The 26-year-old, who joined from Hull City for £18million in 2020, had reportedly been a transfer target for Liverpool and Newcastle but has now committed his future to the Hammers until 2030.
Bowen has scored 45 goals in 167 games for West Ham since his arrival, including the winner in last season's Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina in Prague. This season the forward has five goals in nine appearances and earned a recall to Gareth Southgate's England squad for games against Australia and Italy in October.
“We’re delighted Jarrod has agreed a new deal," said Moyes after the news was announced on Sunday. "It’s a brilliant piece of business from the club to tie him down to a new long-term contract.
“His goal in Prague will live long in the memory for everyone connected to West Ham – it’s given him a platform to go from strength to strength and we’re really reaping the benefits, he’s getting better and better.
“He’s a fantastic boy and an outstanding professional – I’m sure his positive progress will continue over the course of his new contract.”
Bowen's arrival at West Ham has coincided with one of the club's most successful spells on the pitch in recent memory. The Hammers have qualified for European competition in three consecutive seasons and, following last week's win over SC Freiburg, have gone 17 European games unbeaten - a new British record.

Bowen is also the first West Ham player in over two decades to register ten goals and ten assists in the same campaign 2021/22, winning the club's Players' Player of the Year award in the same season as well.
"I've loved every minute of my time here," he said. "Winning the Europa Conference League in Prague was an amazing moment, scoring the winner in the last minute will be something I'll cherish forever," he said.
"It's left us all wanting that feeling again and again - we want to create more memories together, for our fantastic fans, and for this fantastic football club."
