The international break is here once again, and it's safe to say Chelsea go into this one in a better mood than the one that took place in September. The Blues have recorded three wins on the bounce against Brighton, Fulham and Burnley, and while stiffer tests await later in October, their Premier League points tally now looks healthier than following defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Mauricio Pochettino had been adamant that his side had not got what they deserved from many of the early fixtures of the season, but having picked up six points from their last two games, they now at least before facing Arsenal upon their return.

The Blues have in many ways been limited in the work they have been able to do in the opening months of this term, despite Pochettino's arrival in time for pre-season. Chelsea still added a number of players late in the window with Moises Caicedo, Djordje Petrovic and Cole Palmer all arriving after the season started.

Of course, injuries have played their part to as the squad continues to acquaint itself with each other both personally and professionally. It has been a common sight to see the Blues' injured stars in the shape of Christopher Nkunku, Trevoh Chalobah, Reece James and others present at Stamford Bridge when they have been unavailable.

Pochettino has often pointed to the youth of his side, but more crucially their inexperience together. In September, he made sure to illustrate this.

"First of all the players need to be settled, feel comfortable, know each other," Pochettino said. "We were talking also when we assessed the injuries. Now, we are going to compete with teams that play three, four or five years. Even six months. Our keeper Robert played with Disasi four or fives games, Disasi with Malo Gusto for three games, Thiago with Colwill, three or four games. With Lesley Ugochukwu one game, he plays with Enzo, one game. Training sessions between pre-season, national team and the season, not too many, how after to perform under pressure.

"Nico and Sterling they need time to create the links, with Mischa, with Noni, with Palmer, he arrived two days before the transfer window finished. It's not an excuse but we need to analyse all of these things."

Now, much of Chelsea's vast array of talent will travel across the glove to represent their national teams, and Pochettino will be robbed of the opportunity to provide some of his players with experience together. He will have talents such as Raheem Sterling and Carney Chukwuemeka at his disposal however, and his ambition

Following the win over Burnley, the Blues explained his plan during the break. Though, that does not sound like the correct word.

He said: "To improve players, try to recover players from injury in two weeks, we're going to spend working in the training ground. Of course different mood from the last time, last month. With a victory, it is much better. I think pushing, keep pushing and working hard to try and be better."

With Arsenal to play after the Gunners just defeated Manchester City, there will be little room for rest.
