Lionel Messi is preparing to make his debut for Inter Miami after his unveiling by the Major League Soccer side this week.
Messi has linked up with Miami, part-owned by footballing icon David Beckham, following his exit from Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season. As a sign of things to come for the MLS, Miami's DRV PNK Stadium was sold out for his presentation with over 20,000 tickets snapped up.
Messi, who will be joined by former Barcelona team-mate Sergio Busquets in Miami, was a target for Saudi Arabian teams while a return to the Camp Nou was mooted. The contract Messi signed to bring him to the MLS, rather than compete in the Champions League with Barcelona or another European team, is for two-and-a-half years worth a potentially whopping $150 million.
There is also talk of his deal including an option for part-ownership of Miami and agreements with Adidas and Apple for a share of revenues. Apple struck a $2.5 billion deal with the MLS last year for ten seasons of exclusive coverage, starting this year.
The MLS Season Pass is available worldwide through Apple TV and some matches are free, with an Apple ID needed. Apple TV can be accessed on Apple devices as well as some television sets and through internet browsers and Sky television.
For Apple TV+ subscribers, the MLS Season Pass is $12.99 per month or $39 a season and for non-subscribers it's $14.99 per month or $49 a season. Every MLS and Leagues Cup match is shown live with the package including MLS NEXT Pro and MLS NEXT games as well as replays, analysis and English and Spanish commentary.
The Leagues Cup clash with Liga MX side Cruz Azul is when Messi will make his debut, kicking off at 8pm Eastern Time on Friday and that game will be live on MLS Season Pass.
