Tottenham have been handed a huge blow to their Premier League title chances with news of James Maddison and Micky van de Ven's respective injuries.
Both players started Monday night's 4-1 home defeat to Chelsea, but were forced off after sustaining injuries. Maddison left the field with an ankle problem while Van de Ven pulled up with a hamstring injury.
The pair have been vital to Ange Postecoglou's sizzling start to life at Hotspur Way - which has seen him become the first manager to be named Manager of the Month in the first three months of a season. Unfortunately for Spurs, both will now miss the majority of the festive period.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Postecoglou provided an update on their potential return dates. "There's a fair bit happened after Monday night. Micky with a hamstring injury we knew was fairly significant. We're looking at a couple of months for him, looking into the New Year," he said.
"Madders a lot worse than we first thought. He came off with the ankle injury and next day wasn't great so we sent him off for a scan. Again, not great for him. Again, into the New Year for him."
Maddison and Van de Ven aren't the only players who face a period on the sidelines. Forward Richarlison is expected to be out for a month after he underwent surgery on his groin.

"Richarlison had the operation that we had kind of scheduled anyway because Richy has been battling with it from day one and with the international break coming up we thought it was a good time to get it done.," Postecoglou said.
"He should only be, if everything goes well, a month, so not too long after the international break."
Despite the triple blow, Spurs will welcome back Ben Davies for their trip to Wolves. The left-back missed the defeat to Chelsea after coming off in the win over Crystal Palace.
Elsewhere, Ryan Sessegnon, Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic remain out with long-term injuries. And following their red-cards on Monday, Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero will miss the game at Molineux.
