The first round of fixtures in the November international break are almost complete as Mikel Arteta can look forward to welcoming back his senior Arsenal players from next week.

Even with the likes of Martin Odegaard, Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson and Benjamin White staying behind, it has certainly been an incident-filled few days for the Gunners players selected, but most importantly no injuries have been reported as Takehiro Tomiyasu missed Japan's win over Myanmar because of fatigue.

Perhaps, the other main talking point is Gabriel Martinelli scoring his first Brazil goal in their defeat at the hands of Colombia. It was noted that the 22-year-old operated through the middle instead of his usual position on the flanks and having received praise for his performance, perhaps a role change at club level is in the works.

Having said that, Brazilian media outlet Globo Esporte wasn't as complimentary about Gabriel Magalhaes as he was awarded a 5/10 rating and a summary of his performance was: 'Like Marquinhos, he was exposed and even managed in the first half, but succumbed in the final stage. In the first goal, he was unbalanced and was unable to cut.'

With William Saliba and Kai Havertz potentially in action for France and Germany respectively this evening (Saturday) , football.london takes a look at how Arsenal's other internationals fared whilst in action for their respective countries over the past few days.

Despite being a second-half substitute, Bukayo Saka continued his hot streak of goal contributions as he provided an assist for Harry Kane as England beat Malta 2-0 at Wembley Stadium on Friday night. Declan Rice thought he had scored soon after only to be denied by a VAR decision whilst Aaron Ramsdale watched on from the bench.

In the same Euro 2024 qualifying group, Italy beat North Macedonia 5-2 to set up a winner-take-all clash (although a point will be enough for the Azzurri to book their place alongside the Three Lions at next summer's tournament) against Oleksandr Zinchenko's Ukraine on Monday night.

Jorginho was passed fit for Friday's game but his performance has been somewhat overshadowed by another penalty failure. Usually so reliable from 12 yards, the midfielder has now missed his last four spot-kicks for Italy thus prompting 1982 World Cup winner Beppe Bergomi to suggest it's time the Arsenal star stops stepping up.

However, Luciano Spalletti sees no reason to make a change: "Jorginho had a great game tonight and a delicate one," the Italy manager said during the post-match press conference, as per Football Italia. "I already told him that he will take the next spot-kick and he agreed."

Jakub Kiwior's hopes of representing Poland at Euro 2024 now hinge on them securing a play-off spot - which they are currently on track to do - as their 1-1 draw with the Czech Republic means a top-two finish in Group E is impossible given they've played all eight fixtures.

Elsewhere Leandro Trossard featured in Belgium's 1-0 win over Serbia and Mohamed Elneny witnessed first-hand as Liverpool star Mohamed Salah scored four times in Egypt's 6-0 thumping of Djibouti to get their 2026 World Cup qualification campaign off to the perfect start.

Arsenal's other two senior goalkeepers have also been in action over the past few days. David Raya got a rare start in Spain's 3-1 win over Cyprus and even though Karl Hein's Estonia suffered defeat against Austria they still have a chance of reaching Euro 2024 via the play-off route.
