Former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright thought Willian's career was 'over' when he left Arsenal for Brazil in 2021.
The Brazilian winger moved to the Gunners from London rivals Chelsea but failed to replicate the form he showed at Stamford Bridge, finding the back of the net once in 25 league games, and after a season moved back home to Corinthians.
After only a season, the promoted Cottagers brought the 34-year-old back to London where he has blossomed this season, scoring three goals and assisting a further three in 19 league games so far.

A key part of Marco Silva's team who are currently seventh in the Premier League table, six points off the final UEFA Champions League spot and in the FA Cup quarter-final where they will meet Manchester United, Arsenal legend Wright praised the Fulham boss for what he is achieving with not just Willian but a number of other players.
“I think if you look at Fulham’s team,” said Wright to Premier League Productions. “With him [Marco Silva] now, maybe with a point to prove, especially with what happened to him at Everton. He went there in a blaze of glory.
“You look at Antonee Robinson on the left. He’s a very good player. Then there is Palhinha. He is getting an unbelievable tune out of Willian, who I thought it was over for when he left Arsenal.”
