Arsenal were back in Premier League action on Saturday afternoon as they hosted Sheffield United at the Emirates Stadium. The Blades proved to be a stubborn outfit throughout the first half until Eddie Nketiah opened the scoring halfway through the first 45 minutes.

The striker added two more to his tally to complete a stunning hat-trick in the second half before late goals from Fabio Vieira and Takehiro Tomiyasu sealed the victory. That dominated Saturday for the Gunners, but there was plenty of other stories surrounding the club too.

Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus was unavailable for his side's clash with Sheffield United on Saturday, but he was spotted from the sidelines watching and cheering his team on. The Gunners were looking to continue their unbeaten run in the Premier League, while pushing on in their title charge.

Arteta responds to critics

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has responded to complaints regarding his exuberant touchline behaviour, which has seen him booked twice already this season. The likes of Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have been vocal in their criticism of Arteta's theatrics on the sidelines and the Spaniard has now admitted his passion can occasionally get the best of him.

“Sometimes when I look at myself and I’m so agitated I think it can sometimes give an image that is not the best, mainly for the club," the Spaniard said ahead of yesterday's Premier League clash against Sheffield United.

Smith Rowe potential

Gunners striker Gabriel Jesus is currently sidelined with a hamstring issue, leaving the likes of Leandro Trossard, Eddie Nketiah and Kai Havertz as alternative options upfront. However, old comments from Arteta suggest that Emile Smith Rowe could be in with a shout through the middle as well.

“I think he can play in four positions," Arteta said when speaking about Smith Rowe last year. “As a left winger, a left attacking midfielder, a right attacking midfielder and he can play as a nine, very, very well.”
