Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to finally secure his first win as Chelsea manager in the Premier League on Friday night. The Blues will welcome Luton Town to Stamford Bridge this evening in what is set to be a crucial fixture in the early stages of the 51-year-old's tenure.

Despite impressive performances against Liverpool and West Ham, the west Londoners failed to get their hands on three points. However, Pochettino is confident that Chelsea will quickly reap the rewards of their hard work on the training pitches at Cobham.

"We will win, we will succeed in the way the players are buying the philosophy – it is only a matter of time," said the Argentine. "It is a process we can not force to go quick, it is all about the work and the confidence.

"If we expect today the best thing of [Moises] Caicedo, [Romeo] Lavia, [Axel] Disasi, [Robert] Sanchez, all the players who arrive in the last moments with few days to adapt and compete. If we see the projection of these players, we expect the best from them, we should win every single game.

"At the moment, the form of them, we need to provide the tools to improve every day. The way we are playing and the platform of the team gives us the opinion we are in a good way.

"It is only a matter of time until we put it altogether. When the transfer window is closed, I think it is going to be easier to put altogether. I have no doubt about the quality of the squad."

So, with that being said, football.london have taken a look at what stood out in Chelsea's final training session at Cobham before they lock horns with the Hatters.

Caicedo chat

Moises Caicedo, who's expected to start against Luton Town, enjoyed a chat with Pochettino. The 21-year-old midfielder struggled to impress on his debut against West Ham, but he's set to play a major role in the Blues' midfield for years to come.

Madueke heavily involved

Noni Madueke was often at the heart of the action. The 21-year-old winger has recently returned from injury and, with Mykhailo Mudryk admitted into the treatment room, he could slot in on the right-wing, forcing Raheem Sterling onto the left.

Santos duel

Andrey Santos was not afraid to get stuck in, with one tackle on Marc Cucurella catching the eye. While Caicedo is expected to start, Pochettino has confirmed that Romeo Lavia won't be involved for a few weeks so the Brazilian youngster could finally be given his chance to impress against Luton Town – even if it's off the bench.

Towering Jackson header

Nicolas Jackson has hit the ground running at Chelsea, but he's yet to open his account. The striker is expected to lead the Blues' frontline against the newly-promoted outfit and his towering header in training offers a glimpse into what he'll offer.

Badiashile boost

A lapse of concentration and hesitancy saw Chelsea concede three avoidable goals against West Ham. With Benoit Badiashile potentially back in the starting lineup alongside Levi Colwill, Pochettino can be confident that the Blues will keep it tight at the back.
