England have emerged as the early favourites to win next summer's European Championships in Germany.

Gareth Southgate's side beat Italy 3-1 thanks to goals from Harry Kane (2) and Marcus Rashford to ensure their spot, with the Three Lions remaining unbeaten in Group C. With expectations high, most see the tournament as Southgate's final chance at international success.

Having reached the Euro 2020 final only to lose to Roberto Mancini's side on penalties, England crashed out of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar with eventual finalists France winning 2-1. Kane missed a decisive spot-kick at 2-1, as Les Bleus progressed in Al Khor.

According to the latest odds posted by bet365, England are priced at just 4/1 to win the tournament next summer, with France second favourites at 9/2. Hosts Germany are 13/2 whilst three-time winners Spain complete the top four at 7/1.

Portugal (8/1) and the Netherlands (16/1) make up the top six, with Cristiano Ronaldo tipped to appear at his final major tournament. Roberto Martinez's side have been in fine form as of late, having also not lost during qualifying. They beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 5-0 earlier this week, with Ronaldo netting twice.

With the full list of qualifying sides yet to be fully determined, Turkey, Austria and Scotland also ensured their qualification most recently. Steve Clarke's were beaten 2-0 by Spain in Seville last week but earned their ticket thanks to the latter's victory over Norway.

Bet365’s Steve Freeth said: “Euro 2024 may be a few months away but our customers have been getting stuck into the 9/2 since the impressive showing at Wembley and they’re miles clear at the top of our liabilities for the showpiece next summer.

“I know England backers have been here before, winning a qualifying group on the bridle before being agonisingly let-down – normally by a missed penalty – but there seems so many positives about Gareth Southgate’s side right now.

“Admittedly, there a few question marks in a couple of positions, but with Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane in tandem, this looks a team that still has a few gears to go through.

“Kane has so often been the talisman, but Bellingham is oozing in confidence, a player the opposition will be wary about before they get onto the pitch and his scope to get even better could finally be the catalyst to propel England to trophy glory. England backers will certainly hope so.”
