Mauricio Pochettino has made five changes to his Chelsea starting lineup versus Brighton in the Carabao Cup. Thiago Silva, Malo Gusto, Enzo Fernandez, Conor Gallagher and Raheem Sterling all drop out of the season, with Silva out of the squad completely, while Malo Gusto serves the first match of his suspension.

The French defender was shown a red card for his challenge against Aston Villa and sees the backline change its makeup. Axel Disasi, Levi Colwill, Marc Cucurella could make up a back three, while Ben Chilwell or Ian Maatsen could also play a part in the defence.

Moises Caicedo starts against his former side, with Lesley Ugochukwu looking set to partner him in a midfield two. Gallagher misses out, having been involved in every match so far this season.

The front three then looks set to be comprised of Mykhailo Mudryk, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson. The latter has already racked up five yellow cards this season but will not serve his ban until the Premier League game against Fulham.
