Mikel Arteta is set to face the press after Arsenal's Premier League clash with Burnley at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners did not start the game in the brightest of fashions and it was actually Vincent Kompany's side who had the best opportunity in the opening exchanges with Zeki Amdouni forcing a good save from David Raya.

Arsenal then began to take more of a hold of the game and went close themsleves when Bukayo Saka's stinging drive was well tipped over by Josh Trafford. It did look as though the game would head into the break goalless, but Leandro Trossard was able to bundle home Bukayo Saka's flick right on the stroke of half time.

It only took nine second half minutes for Burnley to level though as Josh Brownhill's shot deflected past Raya. There was some controversy surrounding the goal as Takehiro Tomiyasu appeared to be fouled in the build up prompting fury from the Arsenal players.

This did not last long though as William Saliba had them level from a corner just two minutes later. The Gunners would then extend their advantage from another corner as Oleksandr Zinchenko fired home superbly into the top right corner.

That seemed to end the game as a content but Fabio Vieira's dismissal after an awful challenge on Brownhill gave Burnley some hope. Arsenal though were able to ultimately hold on. Arteta on Odegaard

I don’t know. I’m gonna have a meeting now with the medical dept and Edu. I think he’s going to be back after the intl break.

Arteta on the game

Really happy with the result especially the performance. How we played against Newcastle, Sevilla and today.

Arteta on the red card

The red card. VAR was right. The referee was right. Really positive from Mikel. Good decision.

Burnley reaction

Burnley captain Josh Brownhill: "Tough place to go. We defended very well for the majority of the game. The timing of the first goal kills us. When we go level second half you don't want to concede straight away after. They are stupid goals for us.

"We believe in ourselves. It's a long season. We've had a tough start. We'll go into the break, another good performance, hopefully we can put some more points on the board after the international break."

Player ratings

Leandro Trossard has a knack for bringing the best out of those around him while also being outstanding himself. He's the MOTM today. Special mentions for Saliba and Zinchenko, while it's a cameo to forget for Fabio Vieira.
