Injury concerns will have dominated the thoughts of Mikel Arteta over the international break with numerous Arsenal stars in action. Martin Odegaard and Ben White have been recovering from their respective knocks at London Colney with the hope being that both will be available to face Brentford on Saturday, November 25.

Gabriel Jesus is another player causing some fears with his international call-up to play for Brazil a surprise given he has missed the last month with a hamstring injury. After missing the defeat to Colombia, Jesus is expected to return against Argentina with another injury update giving Arteta the worst-case scenario.

On a positive note, the Gunners were provided with an unexpected Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice fitness boost with the duo in action for England on Friday evening. Elsewhere, Manchester City talisman Erling Haaland is another possible injury doubt after he went down clutching his ankle while playing for Norway with any absence for him potentially affecting the Premier League title race.

Saka and Rice boost

Mikel Arteta was greeted with a welcome Arsenal surprise on Friday evening involving Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka.

The England duo both featured in the 2-0 win over Malta for Gareth Southgate's side with Saka assisting Harry Kane's goal. Rice thought he had scored moments later only for his strike to be disallowed for offside with Kane deemed to be obstructing the goalkeeper's view illegally.

While the Arsenal pair were involved in some notable match moments, Arteta was given a surprising boost ahead of the Gunners taking on Brentford next weekend.

Haaland injury blow

Manchester City have been handed yet another injury worry with star striker Erling Haaland suffering a knock to his ankle on international duty with Norway.

Concerns will be strong within Etihad Stadium concerns within Etihad Stadium after Haaland grabbed at the same ankle that has plagued him already this month while in action for Norway against the Faroe Islands.

Following the injury worry, Man City are already in contact with Norway and upon receiving some treatment, he was able to continue with Norway's team doctor, Ola Sand, and manager, Stale Solbakken, delivering an update on his injury status.

Jesus worry

A Brazil injury update could be set to increase Mikel Arteta's Arsenal worries surrounding Gabriel Jesus. The striker joined up with his country earlier this week despite having missed the last month due to a hamstring injury, although Brazil aim to have him available to face Argentina on Wednesday, November 22.

Based on this, Arteta will understandably be worried that Jesus is not fully fit and Brazil's mini-injury crisis in attack is further justification that he should be concerned, especially now it has just got worse. Richarlison and Neymar are both absent through injury with Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo starting as a front two against Colombia.

However, after just 27 minutes, Vinicius was withdrawn due to injury with the Real Madrid star's absence potentially impacting Jesus and Arsenal significantly.
