Tottenham Hotspur summer target Lloyd Kelly is reportedly being targeted by AC Milan. The AFC Bournemouth defender was linked with a deadline day move to north London last summer but Spurs were unsuccessful with their bids.

It's understood that a £20million bid was turned down by Bournemouth after the Cherries did not have enough time to find a suitable replacement. The 25-year-old's contract at the Vitality Stadium expires at the end of the season and it seems incredibly unlikely that he'll still be a Bournemouth player next season.

Kelly has made six appearances for Bournemouth this season, yet his future is expected to be speculated in the coming weeks ahead of the January transfer window. It remains to be seen if Spurs will pursue another move for Kelly, especially due to the fact that he will be available for free in six months time.

However, Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy may be forced to move earlier amid interest from AC Milan. According to reports in Italy, Milan's technical director, Geoffrey Moncada, personally scouted Kelly in Bournemouth's 2-1 win over Burnley.

It's said the Italian giants are lining-up a bid for the Englishman after losing Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino to long-term injuries. As well as Kelly, Montpellier's Maxine Esteve and PAOK's Konstantinos Koulierakis are also on their radar.

Unfortunately for Spurs, AC Milan have an advantage in the move. With them being overseas, they will be able to agree a pre-contract deal with Kelly in January ahead of a summer move.

The battle for Kelly's signature is up in the air, for now. Tottenham will be hoping to avoid another scenario in a few years time like that of Fikayo Tomori. The defender joined Milan in 2021 from Chelsea for £30million and is now valued over double that.

Many players, such as Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho, have moved abroad in hope of elevating their career. Tomori did the same and Spurs will be hoping Kelly doesn't follow them.
