Tottenham youngsters Alfie Dorrington and Jamie Donley have been included on the substitutes' bench for Spurs' Premier League game against Wolves on Saturday afternoon. In action at the start of the week at home to Chelsea, the Lilywhites were dealt some devastating blows on the injury front with Micky van de Ven and James Maddison limping off with injuries, before it was confirmed a few days later that Richarlison had undergone surgery on his groin.

As a result, the Australian has named both Dorrington and Donley in his matchday party for the encounter in the West Midlands.

Here, football.london gives you the lowdown on Tottenham academy duo.

Joining the club as a 13-year-old, centre-back Dorrington has been tipped for big things in north London after making a huge impression at the football club. Donley, on the other hand, has been part of the matchday squad already this season after his inclusion on the bench for the late 2-1 win over Liverpool in September. Making a huge impression in N17 over the past couple of years, the forward has really stepped things up in 2023/24 and posted some extremely impressive numbers.

Playing in eight Premier League 2 games and three EFL Trophy fixtures, the 18-year-old, who can play in a variety of positions in the forward line, has registered six goals and 11 assists in those games this term. As a result of his outstanding showings, Donley claimed the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for October on Friday.

Both Donley and Dorrington have caught Postecoglou's eye since the Australian arrived at the club, with the head coach hailing the duo when speaking to the media ahead of October's 1-0 win over Luton Town.

"With the young guys and guys like Jamie, he's done really well and our Under-21s have had some really consistent performances in their league. Jamie and Alfie Dorrington have really stood out," he said.

"We've had them training with us but at the same time they still have a long way to go and work. It doesn't mean they are ahead of the pecking order with guys like Alfie Devine, who is out on loan or Dane Scarlett. For all these young guys there is still a fair way to go and maybe part of their journey next is to go out on loan, but at the same time, like in life, in football opportunities come along.

"If they go on and take it, play well, they'll accelerate their development but at the moment it is good to have them. The training level doesn't drop when they're in with us and that's the main thing. Both guys, Jamie and Alfie (Dorrington) in particular have come along well."
