Adidas are bringing back memories of Euro '96 and World Cup '94 with a new drop.
Classic and retro kits are a big deal these days and with footy fans known to spend a small fortune to get that classic kit from yesteryear. In what is a major coup for fans, adidas have released several eye-catching pieces in their brand new international football range. The collection features the 1996 home and away Germany top, in which they lifted the European Championship at Wembley after beating England in that semi-final, as well as the Spain jersey from the same year.
The collection is an exciting and bright hybrid of jerseys, t-shirts and more. There's also the tracksuits both nations wore off the pitch during the tournament in what will be seen as a particular highlight to retro collectors.
The Euro '96 angle of the range has sparked excitement with some fans taking to social media platform, X, with many posters praising the drop. One X user, @thao91197, said, "I love this collection, it brings out classic vibe" while @elijah1073405 added "Ive got maad (Sic) respect for those 3 lines", however with the jerseys ranging from £85 and adidas charging £90 for track tops one poster, @Kakaroach, admitted that the price was quite steep, saying: "Hmm too expensive"
The European element to the range has no doubt caused excitement but it's the Argentina 1994 items from the collection that has sparked the biggest reaction. The kit is perhaps best know for Argentina's showing at USA '94 and Diego Maradona's infamous performance at the tournament, however, fans noticed that despite images of the Argentina range being part of the launch, it wasn't yet available to purchase.
Posting on X, several fans were left wondering just when it would go on sale, with @mijash_ saying "Argentina jacket doesn't exist on adidas website." while others asked about whereabouts of the Argentina element of the drop @saifalshahwarzi asked "What about the 1994 Argentina away kit? When is it expected to be available for purchase?" while @aman_matharu queried, "when is the Argentina version dropping?" and @Luke_roberts10 asked "When is the Argentina collection available, it’s not on the website?"
While jerseys and tracksuits from the European nations are available to purchase now, it's understood that Latin American kits, such as Argentina, Columbia and Mexico will be available on December 1. Most of the collection is available now yet some items will be able to buy from December 1 and December 15. You can shop the new adidas range on their website here.
